Independent by design
A governance assessment is only useful if it is free of influence. KnowGence is an AI governance assessment firm. It sells no technology, ranks no vendors and is paid nothing based on which platform a client chooses.
Our commitments
- No vendor rankings. We do not certify, rank or recommend technology vendors or products.
- No conflicted payments. We receive nothing based on which platform a client chooses, and we hold no advisory roles or equity in AI platform vendors.
- Disclosure. Any partnership with a technology provider is non-exclusive and disclosed to clients.
- Data use. Client data is used only for the engagement. Anything shared for research requires the client’s separate consent and is de-identified and aggregated.
KnowGence and the KnowGence Research Foundation
The KnowGence Research Foundation is a separate organization dedicated to research on preserving human agency as decisions are delegated to AI. It sets its own research agenda, governs itself and publishes independently.
KnowGence applies the Bounded Agency framework in its assessments. The Foundation studies bounded agency and the conditions for human agency more broadly.
The two organizations share a founder and may fund or commission work from each other; such arrangements are disclosed to clients and funders.
